Fat-burning bedtime soother

Moon at halloween

What if we could lose weight while we sleep…

That idea sounds almost miraculous. But it might just be possible. Here’s the theory.

At night, our body burns the fat we have accumulated during the day. We can speed up that process while we sleep by stimulating the digestive system and increasing our metabolism. Drinking in some of nature’s stronger metabolism boosters can prod our digestion system to be more efficient.

With that in mind, here’s a nightcap to boost your metabolism, naturally. Perhaps you can make it a habit to have some every evening and see whether it works well for you.

Bedtime nightcap for boosting metabolism
Makes 7 cups, a one-week supply

  • Bring  1½ liters of water  to a boil
  • Add and boil for 10 minutes:
    • 3 cinnamon sticks
    • 1 large handful of washed parsley sprigs
    • 3 lemons, washed in vinegar then coarsely chopped, including skin and seeds
    • 3 tablespoons turmeric powder or chopped turmeric root
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool. Then add
    • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • Stevia to taste (3 tablepoons of my homemade dilution) – optional, but it does soften the bitterness of the lemon juice and tumeric. Don’t use sugar of any kind.
  • Strain and chill in the fridge in a glass jug.

Take a cup of this powerful drink every night before going to bed. It has a strong taste but it’s fairly pleasant. I got to like it quickly.

The ingredients are simple.

Try it for a month and let me know how it works for you. I will do the same. Combined with some regular exercise and a diet of lean protein, lots of fruit and vegetables, minimal alcohol, and minimal added sugar and white flour, you should be well on the road to a sleeker, healthier you in no time!

HI, Vinny! Fascinating post. Awesome ingredients! I have a lot of them in my morning smoothie. As an old guy I have to wonder about drinking it before bed time. I think that would send me to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Hmmm – you could be right. I drink green tea all evening and then my special nightcap. Getting up once in the night is part of my routine :).
I suppose if you had these inredients in the morning you would burn fat all day… thanks for the link!

You did send me a link but when I clicked on it, it disappeared, and it is no longer in the email either. The wonders of technology.
